On 1 July 2015, the Hessian Minister of Economics, Energy, Transport, and Regional Development, Mr. Tarek Al-Wazir, paid a visit to the SAMSON headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He was welcomed by the members of the SAMSON Executive Board Dr. Andreas Widl, Dr. Ingo Koch, and Mr. Gerhard Schäfer as well as the chairman of the works council, Mr. Mustafa Sevinc. The Chairman of the Executive Board, Dr. Widl, presented the company and took Minister Al-Wazir on a tour through the production site. Main areas visited during the tour included the trainee workshop, the lathing shop for large valves, and the valve assembly workshop. Mr. Al-Wazir was impressed by the high quality and the exceptional extent of in-house manufacturing. He praised SAMSON as a reliable, social employer clearly committed to its Frankfurt site.
SAMSON in Frankfurt figures among the most important employers in the region's industry. The medium-sized company has a staff of around 1600 in Frankfurt, among them over 130 trainees in technical and commercial jobs. Frankfurt am Main is home to the SAMSON headquarters and also the company's largest production site. Here, SAMSON develops and manufactures equipment and systems for a wide variety of control processes for industry, process engineering as well as heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning. Continuous innovations and improvements in the production processes enable SAMSON to manufacture more quickly, maximize product reliability, and extend the product portfolio. The latest example of this is our large valve assembly workshop completed in 2013 to meet the growing demand for valves in sizes up to NPS 32.
In perspective, the Frankfurt manufacturing infrastructure will be expanded and investments will be made in sustainable, energy-efficient R&D and innovations facilities. All this is done to meet the growing demands arising from the evolution of mechanical valves through mechatronics and electronics to smart, networked control valves that comply with Industry 4.0 requirements.
