Mr. Gernot Frank, former chairman of the SAMSON Executive Board, passed away on 1 August 2019 at the age of 77.
Mr. Frank joined SAMSON in April 1960 and initially trained to become a mechanic. After completing his vocational training and studying process engineering, he joined the technical sales department at SAMSON Frankfurt as a sales engineer. In 1972, Mr. Frank switched to our Krefeld engineering and sales office to work in field sales. He took over as head of the office two years later. In May 1980, he returned to our headquarters to work as deputy head of the Frankfurt technical sales department.
On 1 September 1982, Mr. Frank was nominated Executive Board member responsible for Sales.
On 1 October 1995, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board and retained this position for twelve years. His career culminated in SAMSON's 100-year anniversary. Mr. Frank retired on 30 September 2007.
Mr. Frank served on the Executive Board for over 25 years and made a decisive contribution to the successful expansion and further development of the entire group. He also helped shape the corporate culture at SAMSON, which he regarded as being particularly important.
